What a bank does here: a free toaster for opening an account, once. What you do instead: learn-to-earn programs pay small amounts of crypto for watching lessons or completing simple on-chain tasks. They are a good way to try a new network with tiny stakes — not a way to make a living.
The landscape changes often. Coinbase closed its classic Learn & Earn program in May 2025 after paying out more than $150M, and shifted toward Coinbase Wallet Quests that reward on-chain actions — some of which cost gas. Other programs come and go on Binance, CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko and Robinhood.
Ground rules
- Never pay to “unlock” a reward, and never share a seed phrase to claim one.
- Use a fresh hot wallet with a small balance for quests.
- Check whether a task costs more in gas than the reward is worth.
- Rewards are typically taxable income in many jurisdictions.

Programs change often and many are region- or new-user-limited. Never share your seed phrase to claim a reward — real programs never ask for it.
